The history of Kretinga through Children's tales

Kretinga Children and Youth Theatre ATŽALYNAS

The shadow theatre performance is created and performed by young actors who, inspired by several historical facts, tell original stories about their hometown of Kretinga. Through imaginative shadow scenes, they explore what happened in the area 10.000 years ago, the ‘dragons' from distant lands that once threatened the town, and the places where people sought refuge from hardship.

The performance also depicts the love story of Count Tishkevich, the lively and mysterious life of the old market when Kretinga was a border town, the transition from pagan beliefs to Christianity, and visions of the town's possible future - whether submerged by the Baltic Sea or transformed into a modern city of skyscrapers and populated by millions.
