Balle aux Pieds

Lesg'Arts

Two artistic fields are primarily combined in this performance: the performing arts (dance) and sport (football). From their encounter emerges a hybrid form of expression, characteristic of the performance Balle aux Pieds. Bodies unite through movements, sounds, and installations that interconnect them.

It is a team sport played primarily with the feet, using a spherical ball. It pits two teams of players against each other in a stadium, whether on a grass pitch or an indoor court. The objective is for each team to put the ball into the opposing goal, without using their arms, and to do so more often than the other team.

At its core lies physical contact as part of the interpersonal relationship in a football match. Here, Balle aux Pieds becomes a choreographic piece that plays with symmetries and asymmetries to address tension, attraction, and repulsion during a football match.
